For trips to interventional radiology, it has been agreed with the anaesthetic department that when ACCU patients go to IR for DIAGNOSTIC procedures, the ACCU medical and nursing staff should accompany the patient.
If the patient is going for an interventional procedure (e.g. coiling of aneurysm following SAH, insertion of drains) anaesthetic cover will be provided by the emergency theatre anaesthetist and ODP.
