LocSSIPs are Local Safety Standards for Invasive Procedures. They consist of a series of locally developed and relevant safety checklists for routine invasive procedures performed on ACCU.
We have LocSSIPs for:
- Percutaneous tracheostomy
- Central venous catheter insertion
- Chest drain insertion
If you are performing any of these procedures, please use and complete the LocSSIPs form which can be found in the doctors’ offices.
For intubations, we use a verbal call-and-response checklist. One of these should be visible on a wall near your patient. Record the fact you have used it in the notes.
